At DTA, students are happy to come to school and proud to be Jewish. They know their teachers well, and friendships often reach beyond their own grade.
Jewish life is not confined to one class or special event. It shapes the school day and gives students a clear sense of who they are.
A Close-Knit School
DTA has grown, but it still feels personal. Students across grades know one another, and classes sometimes come together for learning or school programs.
Teachers are part of school life outside the classroom. They join games at recess and sometimes host classes in their homes. On overnight trips, students and teachers share an experience that feels different from an ordinary school day.
Jewish Life Throughout the Year
Jewish life runs through the school year. Fridays include school gatherings, and each Yom Tov brings its own energy.
Sukkos includes special activities and the lulav and esrog contest. Rosh Hashanah and Pesach come into the classroom through projects. Chanukah builds toward a family celebration and menorah contest.
Purim is one of the biggest days of the year. The school takes on a theme, parents join the celebration, and the day feels unlike any other school day.
Experiences Students Remember
Classes visit museums and educational sites around Las Vegas. Middle school students also travel overnight, with regular trips to Utah and past trips to Los Angeles and Jewish concerts.
Eighth grade ends with a graduation trip shared with classmates and teachers. These trips give students time together outside the regular routine and often become favorite DTA memories.
Teams, Clubs and Activities
DTA fields boys’ basketball and girls’ volleyball teams that compete against other schools.
Clubs rotate during the year, with recent choices including pickleball, baking, art, and chess. Students also take part in the schoolwide spelling bee and other programs added throughout the year.
Families Are Part of DTA
Parents are part of school life throughout the year. The back-to-school barbecue opens the year, and families return for the schoolwide Chanukah celebration and Purim.
Smaller programs give parents and children time together. Mother-daughter events have included pottery and bracelet making, while father-son programs bring families together around Torah. PTO events and Shabbatons create additional opportunities for families to connect.
Torah Tots Has Its Own Special Moments
Torah Tots is part of the larger DTA family, while also having programs created especially for preschool children and their parents.
Families have come together for a mother-child Chanukah celebration and a father-child matzah bakery. A special Mother’s Day program is another Torah Tots tradition.
Torah Tots children have their own classrooms and routines, but from the beginning they know that DTA is their school.
